Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with nice complexity and a soft mouthfeel.
Showing plums, currants, light cedar, earth, herbs, light vanilla, licorice, light vegetables, coffee and black pepper.
This 20 year old Merlot from Napa Valley is still drinking nicely, but past its peak. Elegant and interesting.
This is a nice surprise, as I didn't see it drinking so nicely at this age.
Needs an hour to open up in the bottle.
Good by itself, and better with food at this point. I paired it with light appetizers.

Passed its prime, but still quite interesting. Eucalyptus, Candy-Cap mushrooms and wet earth. Not much fruit left. A touch of heat.

If this wine is rocking don't bother knocking . . still hanging on good fruit lingering finish easily handles a sous vide then grilled leg of lamb Yummo! Martin Ray winery lake vineyard Merlot 1982 . . with the structure in place could go another 10 years no problem

Not a lot of body on this wine and rather weak in terms of Pinot noirs. Hints of leather and oak with a finishing touch of fruit. Overall, decent.
