In the zone. Nose is confectionery city with all types of citrus and apricot. Wow the brown sugar confection is not to be messed with. A stunning nose. Some dried honey as well. Palate is super pure and crisp with wonderful freshness, elegance and delicate, cleansing acidity. Sappy and so so pure. Great, delicate concentration and such a nimble wine. Wonderful and so so long. After some air it’s crazy aromatic. Stunning. Superbly mineral now and just wafting.

Jul 12th, 2022Ripe and deep nose. Huge stone fruits, peach, apricot, plum, tangerine and more. Some citrus undertones as well. Gorgeous minerality and unreal roundness to the nose. This is 13% which contributes to the depth. The 12% Steffensberg was more piquant and less deep. Amazing what an incremental tick up in alcohol does. Huge spice and vulcanized rubber. Light saffron as well. Palate is ripe and juicy and round with great freshness and depth. Really deep. So many piquant stone fruits. This needs air to open up as it’s holding back. What a long, luscious finish. Sapid. Pure. So complex and mineral. Juicy. So many stone fruits like apricot, peach and tangerine. I’ll be back as it opens. As this airs the palate depth is profound. The complexity ratchets up a notch as does the minerality.

Concentrated, textured and super elegant. So fine and refined. Long. Amazingly pure. So delineated and fine. Superb blend of citrus fruits and complex minerality. Really great freshness and piquant acidity. Terrific depth and length. Has great crystalline structure. Seems the 17’s are opening once again.

Sep 18th, 2020Nose of lemon oil, citrus oil, slate, soupy but fresh and super clean. Very perfumed. Palate is superb. So so elegant and layered. Pretty as can be with ripe citrus and stone fruits. Stoney finish with tons of citrus pith. Beautiful explosiveness. Clean and balanced with excellent acidity but not overwhelming. Good concentration and compactness. Piquant. Some yellow plums and apricot on the finish. After 30 minutes this brings the elegance big time. Wow. What a gorgeous wine.

Amazing depth to the ever changing aromas. Juicy and complex but obviously young with amazing refinement and salty extract. So lithe and elegant with out lacking flavor intensity. Gorgeous purity and a wonderful structure. Amazing finish that is just packed. Man this is so good and will last 25 years.

Juicy and complex with serous mineral driven structure yet tangy sweetness from the perfectly ripe citrus fruits and a sneaky persistence. This is stuffed and barely revealing itself but what it reveals now is still stunningly beautiful. A great wine.
