Hazelnut nose and wonderful flavors of bruised apple, golden raisin, and a sweet and sour with a touch of cayenne. At 31 years old and no oxidation, this wine is still going strong.

Tolstoy in a glass.
It starts brooding and deep, but brightens quickly with brandy and spice. Intense and complex. Soaring combinations of fresh fruit and candied citrus peel, with reality-anchoring acidity. The oxidative notes are held in check by a myriad of flavors. Each sip is a new chapter, fresh nuances, new overtones. The only tragedy was when the bottle was empty.

Incredibly complex nose. Honey, Indian spice, candied fruit. Just the right amount of oxidation and acid to stand up to the spices. Beautiful integration, and a never ending finish. Unctuous and bright. Unripe stone fruit, lemon and herbal. Wonderful.
