Growing up in Washington, I've always been skeptical of midwestern wine. Typically I find it syrupy or dull. Who knew Michigan could make a truly fun red? This was lovely next to an appetizer salad with prosciutto last week.

Michigan Wines are coming into their own … and this Cab Franc is an excellent example of national quality with elements of the Midwest terroir. Not overly dry, nice acidity, notes of cherries and other red fruit. Would pair well with autumn foods on a rainy day.

2019 Magenta: 50% Regent, 50% Cabernet Franc. Earthy from the start but you do get blackberry and currant fruit notes in the middle. The citrus finish is a little sharp.

Bright and sour, would be perfect for a picnic with some pasta Primavera and perhaps some shrimp. Love getting to try regional wine specialties! Purchased from the friendly and knowledgeable folks at House of Pure Vin.

Exceptional for Michigan, decent otherwise. Fruity, jammy. Easy drinking. Not a $24 wine.

Purchased at Willow Mercantile. Sweeter notes than expected. Had with pasta aka mac n cheese. A nice light table wine if looking for solid blackberry and black currant flavors. Don't love it but don't hate it either
