Has aged well. Same wine 3.5yr later. Very woodsy- cedar and Forrest floor. Blackberries. Tasty.

Coconut and banana (Kim must use a cooper who brings banana out because thereโs a couple wines that have this characteristic) Markham Zin is a wine that actually needs a couple years to age. The 2015 is ๐๐ผ๐. The 2016 is great now, might need a few more years to come into its own to be sneaky-super-special.

Jun 9th, 2020Markham wines hold a special place in my heart. They were the first winery I visited and also the first wine club I was a part of. Great value wines. Surprisingly, I'd never had their Zinfandel. I kind of have an interesting battle with zins...I either absolutely love them or can't appreciate them at all. This one was interesting...I got a ton of black and blue fruits on the nose with a mix of cedar. It tasted jammy, just like I enjoy my zins, but it had a fair bit of spice to it. Wasn't hot, just more of a black pepper finish. Actually went well with the chili we had.
