Marilyn Wines
Napa Valley Merlot
Fruit forwardly berry. Like diving into a pool with a cranberry and raspberry splash! Baking spice. Supple tannins on the short warm finish. Soft and satisfying... A kiss from Marilyn herself.

Feb 19th, 2020It's time for some Merlot on this #MerlotThursday, and it's is also #internationalMerlotday. Here is a great one from Napa Valley.
Dark ruby in color with a short reddish rim.
Fruity nose of blackberries, sweet cherries, figs, raisins, cedar, vanilla, Mediterranean spices, licorice, peppercorn, milk chocolates, tobacco and coffee.
Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate with black plums, black currants, coffee, cedar, vanilla, leather, spices, chocolates, tobacco, mocha, coke and light earth.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This a delicious Merlot from Napa Valley. Well balanced and enjoyable by itself or with food. A good sipping wine to have all by itself.
Nicely balanced and spicy. Great nose with nice complexity. Loved smelling on it for a long time.
Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up and shows the complexity.
Delicious and yummy.
A blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon.
14.4% alcohol by volume.
92 points.
$36.

Time for #MerlotThursday. Here's a gorgeous one from Napa Valley.
A pretty color of dark ruby with a wide reddish rim.
Strong nose of blackberries, sweet cherries, black currants, oak, vanilla, cedar, leather, chocolates, tobacco, licorice, spices, coffee, mocha, light medicine and black pepper.
Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, sweet cherries, raisins, vanilla, cedar, licorice, cloves, earth, cola, chocolates, tobacco, spices, mocha, coke, earth, light vegetables, pencil lead and peppercorn.
Long finish with round tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a wonderful Merlot from Napa Valley. Well balanced with a great mouthfeel. Showing nice complexity, but needs 5 to 7 years in the bottle to mature.
Already very soft and good right out of the bottle. Very chocolatey, delicious and yummy.
I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.
14.1% alcohol by volume.
93 points.
$30.
