The 2nd schiava I've ever had and a bit better than the first. The nose still is quite muted, with notes of black olive and some wood aging but on the palate are crisp, bright red cherries, a fairly decent body and some nice acidity. The finish isn't long but not bad. A pleasant surprise when I wasn't expecting much.

Schiava. My wife has expensive tastes. This is the first bottle she's tasted and loved that was in the bargain range... So I love it. Medium to light bodied "Pinot" style with a distinctive rosey quality layered beneath tons of fresh cherries.
