This Chardonnay from Russian River Valley is drinking very nicely now, as a three year old. Crisp and refreshing with a light oaky touch.

Showing citrus, limes, grapefruits, oak, vanilla, apples, pears, earth, light vegetables and spices.

Medium bodied with medium plus acidity.

A good quality wine. Would be interesting to try it again in a couple of years.

Good by itself or with food. I paired it with cheeses and crackers.

14.2% alcohol by volume.

89 points.

$36.

Good right out of the bottle, and gets more complex as it opens up.

A little high in alcohol, but not noticeable at all. Good by itself and with food.

I paired it with a Charcuterie board of meats and cheeses by the lake.

The 2018 ‘Russian River Valley’ Chardonnay by MacRostie is a great new value that has some good cellaring potential. The soft texture artfully combines with lemon zest and vanilla cream, with poached pear and wet stone accents. The seriously good, near minute long finish, lingers. Drink 2020-2027- 91
