Really beautiful, surprisingly so, considering the journey it's had! At 12 years old, this wine is very alive and very complex. Beautiful freshness of acidity keeps ripe fruit flavors on their toes. And allows complexities of the whole mint family (mint, basil, sage, taragon, etc.) a beautiful expression. Ripe tannins, in time, have taken a backseat and are now playing an oscar-worthy supporting role. Joe Macari gave me this bottle on its release, and it has traveled with me through 3 apartments with negligible storage conditions. I opened it tonight, regrettably alone, so you'll have to take my word for it. I'm not sure if the wine can still be found.
