Lucky Star
California Petite Sirah
Dark ruby in color with a purplish rim.
Spicy and fruity on the nose, with black currants, cherries, blackberries, sweet plums, spices, oak, vanilla, licorice, light bell pepper, chocolates, light smoke and black pepper.
Full bodied with medium acidity and gorgeous legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate, with blackberries, black currants, plums, cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, earth, peppercorn and spices.
Long finish with firm tannins and black pepper.
This California Petite Sirah was not ready to drink right out of the bottle. It needed 90 minutes to build up some structure and complexity.
Enjoyable by itself or with food. I paired it with beef brisket, but also enjoyed it by itself before dinner.
After 3 hours of opening up, it becomes very savory with lots of bitter herbs and green notes.
13.5% alcohol by volume.
