Cuvée Balthazar Alsace Pinot Blanc

If you don't love Alsatian white wines than you don't like white wines. Medium bodied. White peach. Clean. Don't feel like the fruit was completely ripe here...

Super tasty juice.

Quite oxidized and old world. Added an interesting rested citrus and walnut tone. The mid palate was beyond the main focus. Heavy and wild at its core.

The nose is fairly closed but after a few minutes in the glass, I get faint whiffs of dried peach, almond kernels, and a slight lemony citrus. Body is medium with a slight touch of dried peach and a dusty minerality. The acidity is persistent and out of balance with the fruit. This is a very simple wine.

Seeing off a friend & former colleague 🍷

Peaches, spices, lemon peel, almonds, wildflowers, and a hint of dried apricot. Indubitably Alsace and exactly what you need to wash down some spicy Thai food. 🌶️

Peach and lemon on the nose up front. Opens up to something warm and nutty with dried fruit. Medium acidity and a lovely clean finish with the minerality indicative of Alsatian wines. Does not overwhelm the palate.

Slightly sparkling and slightly sweet

Clear straw color. Aromas of peach, pear and orange blossoms. Crisp flavors of peach and lemon finish.

Well, this is nice. I almost smell a hint of whiskey with the nose (very most likely not even there), but it has a great weight so is a nice wintery white wine. A spattering of acidity, however has a nice smoothness to it.
