Big and aggressively musky on the nose. Smells like someone or something needs a bath. On the palate there is a surprising amount of fruit and sweetness, like a strawberry syrup mixed with a bit of basil and cream. Medium bodied. The slightly candied fruit notes mixed with dry stone is redolent of a Cab Franc. I like this one.

Jan 28th, 2016This French wine was excellent! Light but dry and crisp with slight fruitiness. Made from the grape that grandfathered Syrah(according to the Sommelier)

Dom. Louis Magnin (couldn't fit the whole label, & it was dark). Brambly and rustic but also fruit forward and silky
