Classic Louis Martini, the 2013 Alexander Valley Cabernet is rife with steeped blackberries, plums, and black fruit in general. I've lingered over this glass trying to tease out which ones. A top note of cedar and dried thyme re-emerges on the back palate along with firm tannins and medium + acidity. As with all Louis Martini wines, they have the stuffing to last, and are well-priced for what they deliver. I haven't have a chance to age any of these, because I have have no cellar. If I did, well...

2.9. Fruity but not as bright as expected. Somehow tastes a little flat. On sale for $21.99, regularly $26.98.

Big coco fruit blueberry nose. Big but round softer cocoa-ish. Nice.

Alcohol notes in the nose, but not overwhelming. Little cherry notes and vanilla in the nose. Fruit flavor - Cherry, slight oak vanilla flavor. Medium low body. Dry. Purple legs on the wine. Enjoyable wine.

On first taste the finish was not great. But after the first sip you get the cigar, smokey, dark full body wine. There is a little bit of a sour finish. This was the first wine at a wine tasting and after coming back to this wine after tasting the second wine I thought this wine had a 'funk'. The second wine wasn't good. I rated it a 8.2. $25
