2013v. A Burgundy powerhouse brand meets southern France value. Pours a faint yellow. On the nose- almonds, oak, wax and chalky minerality. On the palette some soft and tart pineapple. I also get a little brioche sweetness that came out well with the savory flavor of a mild époisses cheese. Decent finish with a little saline and oak. 13.5% ABV. Overall, a great QPR for a Whole Foods-available Burgundy imitator, and also not a bad substitute for the more refined, floral viogniers from nearby Condrieu. Winemaker's site also says they make an unoaked Ardèche as well.
