A SB not for the person looking for the tropics. Classic Silex hailing from the Upper Loire Valley. Spent gunpowder and fireworks on the nose. Lemon curd, flint and maybe wet wool. Salty finish that grabs you with the a slight acid tug.

Always a unique expression worthy of contemplation. Oyster shell, saline, yeast and almond oil infused marzipan. To me this was loads better when accompanied by food. Awesome @Shawn R

From Lazy Bear list in SF, popped and poured; light straw color; nose of pineapple, lemon, white flower, stone; stark acidity and pucker finish; with 2 hrs of air this blossomed; really nice now but has the material to age.

Wow. This lives up to its reputation. I had my doubts about all the new oak, but this is almost as if the oak is gently taming the wild, bombastic, flinty, minerally, herbaceous SB within. The finish goes on forever and I honestly didn't want it to stop.
