Opaque inky lake of simmering blueberry tobacco cinnamon sticks. It wafts my direction. The scent is so enchanting. I’m actually very excited to taste this one. Look, I know it’s Temecula Tempranillo. Not Spanish Rioja. It’s big, bold, baked. But that’s what you buy when you go there, right???
It has plenty of acidity on the palate, upfront, in-your-face throw acid in your enemy’s eyes acidity. These are young tasting berries that defy the nose, and last long long long on the lingering unapologetic finish. Well done, Lorimar. You’ve grown outside the overbaked overripe Temecula box and produced a tapas-friendly acid-loving unjammy delight with plenty of tannin to back.
