Ali Story, of Smith-Story Wines, was in town and did a nice tasting at Classic today. A pleasure to meet and very unique and enjoyable wines.
Neat story behind this wine. Ali & Eric have a golden doodle named Lord Sandwich. He’s known for stealing socks. They created this NV “kitchen sink” field blend (zin, Petite Sirah, carignan, Pinot noir) as “his wine” where proceeds go to those who need socks. Some older wine is put in to this so it was surprisingly mellow for a zin/PS blend. Cherry, Blackberries, plum, & violet.
