One dimensional and harsh on the forefront with strong tannins. Some light fruit flavor, would be a good value if in the $10-12. Would be interested in trying earlier iterations.

To my namesake, ubiquitous, a slap in the face of convention and deliberately shirking terroir, yet drinkable, consistent and delicious

This is interesting. If you didn't tell me, I would've pegged this for a rhone or a CDP. It has fruit, spice, acidity, and tannins. I suppose the lack of backyard funk doesn't match that of a rhone.. but this is pretty dam close. Very pleasing bottle of red.

Day 1 tasted hot and thin, but day 2 the fruit and midrange was solid. Not as much oak as I guess I like, but I didn't miss it as much as I thought I would
