I had an Orin Swift tasting experience today, a few of the locations series, abstract, and papillon. Now, nothing against David, but I wasn't thoroughly impressed by these wines, at least not for what they retail at. The first was the "E" standing for España or Spain blend. This was the third release of it, (instead of vintages, they say the edition number) and it is a blend of several of the country's main varietals such as Garnacha and temprenillo. The nose was nice, with notes of Spanish cedar and dried tobacco, and a dark tart black berry following black licorice on the pallet. The wine was a bit lacking in the center, and the finish was slightly herbaceous. Soft tannin, and not a lingering finish of any kind.

Bold like the other Location wines, but a touch of Spanish earthiness. Good with food or without.

Just needed a bottle of red to chase down dinner - just ok.

Love this location wine. Have had a few other varieties. It is rich and supple. Almost meaty, salty nose that gets ripe the longer it is open. Eat it with something spicy and get two bottles because you're not going to want to share.
