La Hermana Chardonnay
Santa Maria Valley, Central Coast, California, USA
LF remains one of my all time favorite domestic producers for chard and Pinot. Just now cracking into the ‘20s and happy to report that they are ready to go!

The 2021 Chardonnay La Hermana is striking. Bright, focused and wonderfully nuanced, the Hermana captures all the personality of Santa Maria, namely that mix of vibrant acids and tropically-leaning flavors. There is an exoticism here that is just compelling. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, September 2023)

The nose is very different from the palate! I always enjoy wines like that. They’re very intriguing. Anyway, nose is soft and buttery and the palate is a very crisp juicy yellow apple. 😋
