Sativa Mendocino Carignan

This is tasty. Good acidity, dense rich fruit and soft tannins. Very good food wine--had with homemade pizzas.

Probably the most exciting wine I've had from California or maybe the U.S. this year. Absolutely delicious, refreshing acidity with bright, soft blackberry fruit and the faintest hint of cassis on the finish. It's perfect. This is my favorite kind of wine.

With the Indica going the way of the Dodo we will be drinking a lot more Sativa at my place- never disappoints.

Nose of jammy fruit, ripe berries. Palate comes at a different angle with earthiness, cocoa, dark chocolate. Tannins build for a lingering finish.

So off the charts good. Damn y'all, well done!

Old vine Carignan has never tasted so fresh and alive- still my fave Peking duck pairing of all time.

Big, acidic, high alcohol taste. Punchy with bright red fruits like raspberry. Needed to open up, but big and overall delicious.
