Standard Bearer of quality dry Lambrusco, which I return to periodically. . A reminder too to not be stingy with myself at under $15/14 a bottle. What’s beautiful here is the balance between a dark, brooding & frothy, joyful character. Pomegranate, black cherry, a touch of anise. A lot of quality stuffed into a outrageously well priced bottle.

Dark, near black purple with dark magenta mousse. Black grapes on the nose; confirmed on the fizzy, medium palate with ash and fine, dusty tannins. Frizzante bubbles and medium acidity make this an excellent choice for casual red wine fare. Lasagna is its natural pair, but a great match for pizza, chicken parm, or brunch with beef. Drink it when you buy it, of course.

Giving this another chance. Dense, dark purple like Ribena in color. Grape juice, yeast and wet cardboard notes in nose. Fizzy fruit seed flavors, but nice seed tannin finish. Moderate skin tannin emerges after an hour. I’ve been pairing dark chocolates with Lambrusco since someone showed me it could be done. Also worth drinking once summer returns. Fresh, light fun

Whimsical bubbly line-up from Rx Wine Lab POP-UP last night. Cremant du Jura from Clavelin, Meinklang Pinot Frizzante, Lini 910 Rosso. All excellent BTG pours for between 10-15 bones! #bubbles4thepeople!

Only purple in color. Grapey and tutti frutti in nose. Fizzy dry grape soda with soda water astringency on finish. It is what it is - good for some of us, not so much for others.
