I always like this wine, but today it seems to be hitting on another level. The captivating nose is a great preview for the mouthful of rich, plush cassis and blackberry that follows. The foreground fruit is accented by subtle woodsmoke, lively spices, and a suggestion of black olive in the long, resonating finish. This is a beautiful, satisfying bottle that will be gone way too soon.
