Limerick Lane
Russian River Valley Zinfandel
Deep purple color with aromas of ripe dark fruits, floral, cedar and sweet baking spices. On the palate flavors of ripe cherry and plum with notes of black pepper, cacao, licorice and cinnamon. Fine tannins, long finish ending with ripe fruit and spice. Nice!

Apr 18th, 2023New label but the same always-reliable Zinfandel. Huge aroma of crunchy black fruit and red fruit with wild raspberry, elderberry, mulberry, plum and licorice. Tannins are soft and elegant, vibrant acidity and a warm undercurrent of dried herbs (think a Sonoma version of garrigue) give this wine charm and dimension. It’s lovely. 14.8% abv

Nov 17th, 2021The 2019 Zinfandel (Russian River Valley) is bright and full of energy. Ripe red/purplish berry fruit, rose petal, spice, lavender and mint are front and center in this refreshing Russian River Zinfandel. Floral notes and bright acids perk up the finish. This is such a gorgeous wine, and also a great introduction to this lineup. The Russian River Zinfandel is really a Zinfandel-based field blend from Limerick Lane and a handful of other properties, including Banfield, Collins, Sodini and Ponzo. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, January 2021)

Purple red, moderately extracted. Mint and blackberry aromas. Blackberry and lactic flavors, chalky, moderately astringent finish. Needs time to open. Worth aging another two-three years

Aug 24th, 2020Excellent Zinfandel. Very well rounded, big and bold but not too bold. Pretty jammy but not overly jammy. This is an excellent wine and should have a good cellarability.

May 26th, 2018Another great example of the wonders of cool climate zin, and even better than the 2014 imo. Crunchy red fruit, violet floral tones, and a supple but never heavy finish. A zin for people who say they don’t like Californian zin. Great job, @Steve Matthiasson !
