Les Hauts de Lagarde 2015 Rosé (SRP $13): This organically grown rosé is made from 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc and 2% Malbec. It is fun, fresh and fruity, with candied red berry fruit flavors leading the way followed by watermelon and a light dusting of white pepper. With the season for backyard grilling almost here, consider this an affordable, medium-bodied wine to wash down BBQ; even meats slathered with thick, semi-sweet sauces.

Les Hauts de Lagarde 2016 Rosé: Here’s a palate and pocket-friendly ($12) rosé from Bordeaux made from 100% organically grown grapes (50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Malbec). Watermelon red in color, this wine is ripe and juicy, balanced by a refreshing acidity. It is chock full of red summer berries, especially cherries, along with muted floral notes and a pinch of black pepper. Though pleasing all year round, this rosé is just the ticket with traditional barbeque fare; particularly burgers, ribs (topped in a sweet, tangy sauce), and hot dogs (Carolina style). Cheers!
