Dionysus was smiling down on me this day, because Les Dolomies’ Pinot Noir from the Cotes du Jura is truly unique! This hearty wine has a distinct minerality to it, something comparable to notes of mushroom and fresh soil. It also has a fun spiciness to it, but not the typical black pepper you may think, perhaps closer to sage and cloves combined with tobacco. When asking the question of who would enjoy this bottle, I generally try to make the recommendation as broad as possible, but this is not a general wine by any means. If these tasting notes appeal to you and if you’re ready to spend a little bit for the most deliciously different Pinot Noir you may have ever tried, give Les Dolomies a shot!
