Slightly burnt and earthy initial aroma quickly gives way to a candy and strawberry milk-plum and muddy oyster shell interplay. Hints of white pepper and daisies. Lavender as well as berry tart.
Two part mouthfeel, light and then a medium buildup like coagulating oak tannins around the back rim of your mouth. Green and nearly stemmy impressions are a perfect match to the soft Grenache plum jam and the black pepper aftertaste. 15% Mourvèdre imparts a real complexity and depth to this little value Lirac. Good enough for the popes, good enough for you! Supposedly rocks the same galets as CDP, but this is CDR all the way. Muddier and tangled, older and more pagan. Strapped into a black leatherjacket of dirty syrah, its gears slathered in unctuous Mourvèdre , this one goes knees to the breeze, built to please.
