Sometimes it’s simply fun to try a wine at its precocious best. This CdP is a perfect example of that fun. With 75% Grenache leading the charge...and a slightly tannic/hot first act...the wine settles down to reveal globs of great concentrated dark fruit, whiffs of garrigue, and CdP’s ever familiar spice and game characteristics. This ‘18 deserves to be in your cellar maxing out in about 10 years. A lovely, lovely wine. (Paired it up with a ground coffee/brown sugar/chipotle chile powered grilled NY strip steak. A perfect 10!)
