Brilliant ruby. Spice-accented red and dark berry preserve, floral and smoky mineral qualities on the expressive nose; a hint of succulent herbs emerges with air. Shows very good depth as well as energy to the sweet black raspberry, cherry and licorice flavors, which deepen steadily through the midpalate. Supple tannins build slowly on a long, spicy finish that leaves cassis and cracked pepper notes behind. Raised in concrete vats. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, February 2020)

The Grenache-based 2015 Vacqueyras Garrigues presents a riot of vibrant, spice and mineral accented red fruit and floral notes, with just a hint of youthful tannins. It will make a great match for grilled or braised meat and mushroom dishes. $25.00 (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, November 2018)
