I thought that I had rated this wine before—If not the 17 vintage some of the previous vintages. But I don’t find this excellent wine under my profile—which is in egregious oversight on my part. I think if I were washed up on the shore of a desert island along with a case of wine this would be the wine I’d choose.
2017 vintage tasted February 2021. This wine is still young, but eminently drinkable. Green briars and young nettles on the nose. Although this might not seem like an attractive description, for me this smells like spring! A hint of Cassis on the front for fruit, and lots of limestony high notes on the middle and back palate. medium tannic body holds everything together. And.a hint of dark chocolate on the back of the palate rocks my boat!

I hesitate to open one of these bottles, because I’m likely to drink the whole damn thing on my own.
