I probably shouldn’t have of opened this bottle for another five years. Luckily, I’ve got four more. Sage and limestone on the nose. Slightly under ripe plums on the front of the palate. The nose and the front result from the dominant Petite Verdot. At the midpoint the tannins from the Syrah (and the minuscule amount of Cab) kick in. Velvety soft at the mid-palate with a calcaire finish. As an aside, I’d say that Law Estates is one of the three best vineyards in Paso Robles.

Dec 6th, 20192013 opened Dec 2017. This wine needs to breathe for an hour or so before it really opens up. Jammy and almost syrupy upon opening, but the underlying calcaire comes through after it sits awhile. The strong dark fruits on front of the palate dissipate a bit -- then its minerality comes through and it's smooth tannins all the way down!!
