Fall allocation just arrived at K&L and I have been out for sometime. Missed this extraordinary cuvée at a ridiculous QPR. Stocked up again. Cheers to that! 🍾🥂

Many previous notes stand.

Champagne is for celebrating! Today, 12 years ago, I married my love & best friend in Cortona, Italy...in the heart of Tuscany. The day still lingers like it was yesterday. It was a spectacular day that I will never forget. Such memories!!!

So, to my wife Sofia, cheers!🍾🥂. I love you today more than ever.

All my previous notes apply. 9.4 on the Champange, a 10 on my partner choice and our day twelve years ago.

Photos of; the Piazza of the La Repubblica...the building we were married, us leaving for our reception and one of the better meals of our life, walking through town on the way to our reception and our wedding ceremony.

Consistently delicious and great value in Grand Cru Blanc de Blanc Champagne.

Fresh, reductive, lively on the palate. Green apple, lemon, lime zest, baguette crust, pineapple, white peach, lanolin, cream, perfect chalk & minerality, yellow & white florals, beautiful acidity and rich polished finish that persists.

Photos of; one of their Grand Cru vineyards, two views of their historical museum of champagne/wine artifacts since it’s beginnings and Launois.

Micro-bubbles galore, Yum! This might be close second for a Friday evening standard for @David T but tonight it is flowing into glasses on the complete opposite side of the Country. A wonderful Blanc de Blanc Champagne.

Nose has freshly scrubbed lemon, grapefruit peel, sliced Granny Smith apple, wet chalk, cold brioche and Gardenia blossom in a breeze.

Palate is fresh orange peel, grapefruit peel (like really wow), tart green apple, fresh walnut, crunchy brioche with a little hint of sweetened butter and a splash of acidic ocean water.

Finish is intense, yet elegant and lasting for many minutes. We are quite looking forward the the evolution of this bottle across the evening, as it warms from 46°F and gains air time.

Thank you
@David T @Sofia Jalilie for allowing us into your week closing tradition. The next bottle should have us closer together.

Happy President’s Day Weekend. 🇺🇸 I hope you all have the day off tomorrow and can enjoy an extra night of wine indulgence.

Every time I open a bottle of the Launois Veuve Clemence, all I can’t think about is, I still haven’t had a better Blanc de Blanc Champagne at this price point and many others at higher price points yet.

The nose is fantastic...Meyer lemon, lime, grapefruit, ripe pineapple, green melon, green apple, cream soda, lemon meringue, whiff of ginger, soft, understated white spice, sea shells & diary, baguette crust, light volcanic minerals with spring flowers, fruit blossoms and yellow lilies.

The palate is rich, reductive and so fresh. Micro beads with near perfect acidity. Meyer lemon, lime, little bit of orange with a touch of rind, grapefruit, ripe pineapple, green melon, green & golden apple, cream soda, honeysuckle, lemon meringue, caramel notes, whiff of ginger, soft, more pronounced white spice on the palate that really penetrates the palate, sea shells & spray, baguette crust, light volcanic minerals with spring flowers, fruit blossoms and yellow lilies. The finish is rich, elegant, beautifully balanced and persists for minutes.

If you can have wine shipped from a California retailer, you owe it to yourself to try a bottle at only $44.99. Its worth twice that price. K&LWines.com.

Finishing up the Launois from last night. Always enjoy the experiences of vintage champagne but, simply still like this over the 04 Bollinger RD & the 06 La Grande Dame as well as a number of other producers.

Bright, fresh and live on the palate. Lots of green apple, some golden apple, overripe pineapple, white citrus, white peach, some bruised pear, touch of all spice, caramel notes, volcanic minerals, excellent chalk, sea shell fossils, baguette crust, some ginger & cream soda, jasmine, spring flowers & yellow lilies. The acidity is fantastically lively and the rich, polished, elegant finish goes on nearly endlessly.

Hard to beat even with more expensive champagne price points and a steal at $44.99.
