Batch 007, bottled Jan. 2015.
This goes to show how much my palate has changed: 10 years ago I experienced Laphroaig and I thought it was the worst thing I ever put in my mouth. Now I can't put it down. This is manly scotch. I get iodine, seaweed, peat, hearty malt, citrus. The texture is oily and expansive. This finish lasts forever.

Color of nice clear caramel. Nose is attractive fragrance of round peaty notes, smoke, baked bacons, hidden beneath this fragrance is hint of sweetness from baked apple, a bit leather, and spicy strength of alcohol in the nasal cavity. Taste is similar with again beautiful smoke and peaty notes, some zest or iodine mineral, quite dry with just a hint of sweetness after stirring it with tongue. A beauty and queen of peaty flavors.

Lovely golden color. Smoky like all Islay malts. But extraordinary complexity under the peat. And strikingly smooth for over 114 proof. A wonderful whisky.

This is THE Scotch I measure all others against. Amazingly complex. Strong peaty finish, heavily medicinal on the tongue, salty seaweed !!! Recommend drinking best with just a few drops of water !! Be sure to enjoy the nose before tasting.
