Bought at winery. Purple red in color, clear but densely extracted. Smoke, basil and blackberry notes in nose. Woody, sweet vanilla, cherry notes in mouth. Well made but different, heavier style of Pinot noir than typical in Oregon. Some will love this, others not so much, but definitely a unique take on Oregon Pinot. Some discussion around dinner table that this might be a winemaking adjustment for very young vines at the estate producing their first crop.

A spicy plum aroma on the nose provides a precursor to a body that opens up smooth and rich. The plum notes remain and are complimented with cranberry and pepper. A solid Oregon Pinot and something to look foreword to after some age.

Enjoyed this with my feet walking the soil that produced the fruit. Such a cleanly laid out vineyard and tasting room. Staff was awesome and walked us through their first vintage, describing the winemakers style and influences. Wine was bold with good earthy character. Ripe fruit and good mouth feel only improve as the wine opens up. Pick up some leathery and tobacco notes which mesh nicely with the dark berry. Thanks for the tasting!
