Delectable - this is the Valley Floor not the Steadfast Shiraz. Inky dark Ruby red in colour, almost black. Very oaky - like aromas of freshly sawn wood. Ripe plums and earth from a warm vintage and from the “Valley floor “. Full bodied. This is the Barossa Shiraz playbook which ticks all the boxes. As a footnote Langmeil owns some of the oldest vines in Australia dating back to 1847.

A very enjoyable Aussie Barossa Shiraz, even for you snobs that shun this stuff. Give it a try!

I think this is one of the best Shiraz out there for the money and located near the super premium brands that are 5-10x the price. Can’t go wrong at $35.

Langmeil never made a bad bottle of wine. However, this is an exceptionally hot year after 10 years of drought. Ripe, for sure, but still lovely. Showing plums, raisins, and a sweet prune finish.

Nose of blackberries, black raspberries, soft spices and dark dry & fresh florals. Palate of baked spiced black plums, blueberries, blackberries, dark cherry skin, pouched plum, black cherry cola, black licorice, light earthiness and soft powdery tannins with ripe fruits on the finish that make it easy to drink young. Photos of vines around the estate and the old style basket press still widely used throughout the region. This basket was just pressed.

Decent inexpensive Shiraz that drinks nicely for the price point.

Oz coming back strong! Everything you want from Aussie Shiraz, bold rich with lots of fruit and depth without becoming a caricature.

Toasty, coconut oak; ripe fruits. Barossa Shiraz as many expect it.
