The nose opened with ripe blueberry and raspberry, but okay elements quickly took over. The theme continues on a very plush palate. Silky tannins.
Underwhelming for a flagship bottling.

Freedom Hill 1996. Found hidden in my cellar - should have been finished 10 yrs ago. Brick red, varietal nose, still nice fruit but mostly faded; a shadow of its former self.

Good but not as much fruit as the crowd was craving. Has a touch of a smokey finish.
