l'Acino
Seta Trebbiano
Calabria, Italy

Yesterday i had a day at the cellar door.
Rustic, but very enjoyable for company, vibe and wines.
I had tasted this trebbiano few years ago, but it got much better.
It ages for 18 months in mulberry barrel of 1500 litres. The vessel is crafted by Cioni from Irpinia with local wood...you might be aware that mulberry tree were used by every local towns in the area till the 19th century to keep silkworms; as a consequence they are very common in Calabria.
Also hence the name Seta(silk).
Btw the wine is exquisite, it has this strong feeling of drinking an apple juice, with many spices and it is long.
Not cheap, but very expressive.
I also tasted the 2024 in barrel which was even better possibly.
