Very deep dark purple color. Full bodied, well balanced with great acidity and tannic structure. Still needed time opening up, and just starting to hit early side of drinking window. Will probably go another 5 years. Cranberry, plum, currant, black cherry, pencil shavings, violet, and a hint of baking spice all make for an interesting wine

broodness, red plum, olive juice, herbal basil on the nose. med plus body, med plus acidity, smooth and silky texture with hint of spiceness and game flavor. it's weird. it has similar character as Aglianico in terms of broodness. (maybe my bottle stored incorrectly?) grilled lamb, pigeon or pate with rabbit can work good with this one.

Easily one of the best wines I've ever had. Sweet cranberry sauce and ginger on the front, smoke on the back.
