Great surprise. A Syrah from Guadeloupe Valley in Baja California. Thought it might be getting over the top given it’s age and region where it was grown but nothing further from the truth. This wine has plenty of acidity, very well structure and penetrating spice. We had it with a tortilla soup and what an awesome match. It brought forth strong earthy notes and amplified the spice.
