Kumeu River is situated north of Auckland where you would expect conditions to be warm but the Vineyard is kept cool by its proximity to two large bodies of water - the Tasman Sea 20 km to the west and the Pacific Ocean 30 km to the east keeping peak summer temperatures below 30C. Known for its brilliant Chardonnay this is not surprisingly a very good Pinot.
