Oct 2nd, 2016In a good spot tonight. The nose was dense sweet black fruit and rare meat! The entry is black cherry, garlic & herb rubbed pork, tobacco more to the middle. The power in the finish is elegantly crafted and had a strong black and almost a "purple" fruit core with adequate black pepper spice but not over the top. The structure of this wine for a Texas producer is actually quite mind-blowing. Although not a wine made from Texas GRAPES (as it says so right on the bottle), this wine is RATHER complex....what more can you ask for? This wine was pulled to go with the main course, but ended up pairing best with the Parmesan Herb Sun Chips that were used to fill the plate. Sometimes you never can tell!

Aug 12th, 2017This is my favorite of red wines that they have produced. Dark, jammy cinnamon fruit cake backbone. Petite Sirah is very present. Lots of dark Blackberry, spice, hint of Ash. Full-bodied wine. French wine maker with amazing talents doing great things with Texas grapes. Cheers!
