2004 vintage so nice, getting frail but still game. This is what a truly well-made white can be and why I treasure the few opportunities to taste them when they have some bottle age. What was once racy is mellow, yet the Alsatian springiness is apparent in the finish. The wine changes in the glass, takes a few minutes to open to flowers and light fruit, slowly eases into a riper and deeper taste. Is it past prime? If so, not by much. And it has tolerated sub-optimum conditions more than once. Still a great glass and a tribute to the maker's expertise.
