Vintage 2013 | poured blind with wine friends, extreme light colour, perfumed nose, earthy tones, still much fruit. A really difficult wine to determine, my friends called for Piëmonte. That’s not bad, the Xinomavro is sometimes called the Greek Nebbiolo.

Vintage 2013 / Aah I do not recognise this wine blind - but it is in my own cellar. Always confronting. My notes say: Redbrown, shy smell, some bitterness, difficult wine. But also: much more to appreciate than at first site seems obvious. Xinomavro is a wine looking forward to enjoy, and give it full attention.

Deep purple.
Med+ intensity youthful aromas of plum, blackcurrant, dark cherry, pepper, chocolate, cedar, violet.
The palate is restrained, unidimensional comparing to the nose. Dry, med+ acid, med smooth tannins, med alcohol, med body, med intensity.
Med+ spicy finish.
Good wine, great structure but the palate lacks complexity IMHO to rate more. Can drink now, will benefit on the decanter and will get smoother, suitable for further aging. For sure a great QPR
