Krutzler
Reserve Eisenberg Blaufränkisch
Yesterday’s Wednesday Wine Committee, hosted by @Jeff Meyer , was so educational with fantastic German & Austrian wines. 1 sparkler, 5 whites, 5 reds, 1 dessert wine. All served blind as usual.
Super young and super tannic. Jeff brought this out at the end to compare against the previous wine so this wasn’t tasted blind like the others. Deep black-purple with violets, fresh potpourri, tar, and herbal tang. Needs 3-5yrs to soften.

Special late bottling of the Eisenberg Blaufränkisch.
Dark & brooding, with earthy, rocky aromas dominating, a whiff of iron, raw beef, but also succulent dark fruit and fresh Mandarine peel. Quite flowery, too.
On the palate this is light, with zippy, fresh acidity and a firm, juicy tannic frame. Savoury, juicy, delicious. Depth, character, finesse.
Very Nebbiolo-esque.
