Tasting notes from earlier this year still apply. Great quality price ratio (as usual in Hungary 😏). This time around though the nose is a bit more leaning toward cabernet franc with green bell pepper notes. The rest is as previously described. For less than 8 USD...

I know there isn't only merlot in the blend, and the colour of the wine leads me to think that there could be some lighter couloured grape in there (pinot) but you can clearly smell merlot markers here with black fruits, cherry and leather. There is a tiny bit of red bell pepper too, that could give away some cabernet franc. This is clean, rather intense and inviting. The palate is very well made, with a good acid drive, some width, a truly nice umami note shining through and through, very reminiscent of good merlot examples I had recently, no real tannins to speak of, and a long fruity, meaty finish that goes on for a while with a tiny bitter note in the rear. It's pretty good!

Off juicy, spicy, playful, really a fun wine. Kekfrankos brings the funk and the international varietals make this a finisher. Egri Bikavér has it going on! #bullsblood
