When describing a wine the word 'different' or 'interesting' is often thrown around a lot with those from my parents generation when they are looking to politely describe a wine they don't particularly enjoy. However, they are the first two words I would use to describe this wine before beginning to pull it apart. At first the wine has cat food, lees, lanolin, sweat and cheesy aromas but if you can hang in there long enough these aromas sets into the background and add incredible complexity. The wine begins to show incredible fefferl, white pepper and freshly cut celery character amongst fresh passionfruit, pear, guava and even some creamy / oaky tart peach. The palate here is the serious game changer with incredible flavour intensity with long, long finish and acid drive.
