This was actually amazing. One of the first 2 Slovenian wines I've ever had! Aged in Cherry wood and Hungarian wood casks, on lees for 5 years! 70% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Could have sworn I smelled a Merlot/Cab Franc blend with the rich rustic notes flying out of the glass - smelled like Pomerol all the way - wild cherries, bell pepper, leather, tobacco, blackberries, hay in a barn, and mocha notes. I really, really enjoyed this. Who know the Slovenians made this great of wine! I didn't. Great wine to have with a natural cigar.
