Much lighter and elegant charbono than you might be used to (although, there aren’t a lot out there...). Medium bodied, not a lot of oak influence. -like a French Syrah met french gamay. Sweet-sour peach, a restrained exotic. Cranberries. Black table grape. Good acidity. Violets. 5-10yr and smoke could develop to take this to the next level!

Crunchy, low intervention delight. Black fruits, earthy and crushed gravel. Medium plus body with lush, lush tannins.

A wonderful nose, well balanced already, deep hues of purple jammie. On the palate, very smooth and a little acidic, a touch of tannins- not offensive at all. It is a delicious flavorful full-bodied wine.

Complex notes on the nose but predominantly figs and blackberries. Very little acidity and surprising flavors of strawberries, rhubarb and milk chocolate

This had a carbonic nature to it with tart, ripe fruit and a very slight bubble gum thing. Low tannins, M+ acid, 12% alc, and nice balance. Worked well with bbq chicken on a hot day. Easy...

This wine is so wonderfully smooth, a drop of bitterness on the front end with very little tannins. Outstanding and delicious!

Dark fruit, maybe a little barnyard? Tannins were a bit punchy for me, would probably benefit from a bit more aging or at least decanting.

Jordan Kivelstadt is making the ‘funnest and most obscure / eccentric ’ wines in Sonoma, mostly French styles. The Charbono is traditionally an Italian grape, and not widely grown in California (only 80 acres in all of the state) thus it’s appeal to Jordan. Rich, dark and bright all at the same time.
