OK, another Kirkland signature. Red blend from Pacific Northwest- mostly cab, with some Shiraz and Malbec I remember. For 30,000KRW($27? I know it's crazy; it should be under $15 really. What a joke.), it has real nice balance and smoothness to it. I know I should not use 'pleasantly surprised' too much in wine, but it was. Paired with braised pork belly with caramel miso glaze. Michael Rhulman's recipe from 'Twenty'-not an exciting flavor combination. Maybe works for Americans those who believe they understand how to 'east meets west.'

More like a Cabernet with other stuff goin' on than a Meritage blend. Heavy oak, red berries, anise. Acidic - it could probably hold up to a beef stew with some tomatoes, but not a tart tomato sauce.

Great, easy drinking wine. Smooth blend. Great for $25, awesome at $13.

This is about a $15 bottle of "red wine", not a Merlot. I tried it because I had read that Costco was working hard to make sure it's "Kirkland" labeled wines were good to high quality at their price points. I was very happy with this wine and will probably buy again.
