Perhaps I kept this one too long. Perhaps it was never really good to begin with. Either way, I have had much better wines from Kiepersol before. This wine has a very good nose of crushed raspberry tart, and promises a smooth and fruity raspberry delivery. Is that so hard to ask for? Apparently so. This one takes off from the runway and immediately crashes to the ground within about 10 seconds. Very bumpy ride! Disjointed wine, something like a rubber in the middle. Just can't explain it, and not too sure it is oxidized versus just not in balance with too much attention paid to the front of the wine and too little paid to the mid-palate and finish. I will take a bottle of their Merlot or Barrel 33 any day over this wine. Just did not perform for me tonight.
